May.... Inspiration

I've had a website to work on this month so sorry for the lack of blogging but here is a little of what inspired me this past May.A few scarves I need to get my hands on for Glasto, Even Biddell Jacket, Jeremy Scott sneakers, the new Marchesa designed Bunny Costume for the new Playboy Club in London, my friend Covi's rings and Bryan and Henry both rocking this season's Men's Prada Brogue/wedge.... want some!!!

Snoop in the Liverpool O2.... Amazing

I was lucky enough to get myself tickets (thanks to my amazing boyfriend) for the exclusive Snoop gig in the O2 on Wednesday and I can honestly say I was not disappointed... the place was rammed and unless you were willing to loose a stone in sweat at the front it was a little hard to see but my word was it worth it! He stayed away from covering his new album and mainly stuck to the classics throwing a few new tracks in along the way. The place quite litterally went off. Heres some photo's I took .... videos will follow soon!

Summer Dresses

Cream Bandeau Embroided Tunic - £36.00
Cobalt Embroided Fringe Tunic - £40.00 - Both Topshop

Red Spray Print Side Split Midi Dress - £75.00
Proenza Schouler Deep V Neck Chiffon Dress - £1519.00 at

The new summer dresses range at Topshop is well worth a peek this week. With loads to choose from at reasonable prices you can't go wrong, weather its for Ibiza, Glasto or a just a weekend BBQ with your mates, they've got something for everything. Also we think this red spray paint print chiffon number is a nod to the use of different length layering we seen in the Spring/Summer and Resort collections and at £75.00, if you can't afford the Proenza Schouler offering from their Spring/Summer 2011 collection priced at £1519.00 we think this a more than adequate substitute!

Oscar De La Renta Resort 2012

Oscar De La Renta showed his Resort 2012 collection yesterday. The show was based on Picasso's Spanish Paper Guitar and showed influences of cubism and spanish wares. Once again one of the masters of modern fashion proved his clothes are more pieces of art than wardrobe staples. I'm sure we'll be seing these spanish influenced prints and boxy cut dresses filter into the highstreet by early autumn. (Pictures by

Sorry Nicola Poppette, we do love you here at discofashionartsugar being the little liverpool style queen that you are but this outfit is just a little bit fussy! I don't even know where to start! Your Mulberry bag is nice though! Maybe interviewing Lady Gaga this week made you a little braver with your fashion choices but we just think its a little bit too much! What do you guys think?

Take out your top knot and throw in your Rollers!

Scouse and more recently Essex girls alike have been taking criticism from the UK's press for their ever growing fondness of a big bouffant for a long time now. (yes Liz Jones of the Daily Mail... I am talking to you!) However I am glad to say that maybe us Scouse chicks may have just been ahead of the curve.
Even though it does annoy me when I see girls walking around Lord Street with a head full of rollers and my good friend and stylist at Voodoo Bold Street Jamie saying once a week, "if I have to do another bouncy blow this week I will hurt someone"... I think big hair has well and truly just come into its own.

Even though this trend has had thousands of endorsments from various celebrities around the globe, the girls up north have been taking stick none the less. Step forward my Idol and fashion saviour Sarah Jessica Parker who whilst attending a gala in New York last week supported one of the biggest bouffants since Amy Childs at the TOWIE series one wrap party!

Maybe now all the big hair (scouse) haters may shut up for a while!
