Hot Child in the City

Well Thursday certainly was a hot night in the city.  The legendary Browns bar and brasserie had their grand opening in Liverpool One (whilst simultaneously celebrating 40 years in their London bar)and the liverpool fashionistas certainly were out in force.

Hollyoaks actress Jorgie Porter and Jennifer Metcalfe looked stunning.  Jorgie wore a black cut out stretch maxi dress, only £50 from Lavish Alice.  Jennifer wore black tailored dungarees with a black bandeau underneath, similar to which can be found by River Island on ASOS for £35.00.  Both achieved a fabulous look using high street stores.

Also out on Thursday Night was the city's resident guru of fashion  (she can do no wrong by DiscoFashionArt at the moment)Abbey Clancy.  Abbey looked amazing as per usual, even when casual this girl nails it, in ripped jeans, a pale blue blouse and on trend delicate high sandals, Abbey certainly was a hot child in the city!

Abbey is the new face of designer Hasan Hejazi's new A/W 2013 collection, and frankly its fantastic.  The pictures are amazing, (see below) and prove once again that Abbey is a fashion force to be reckoned with. Specialising in glamorous evening wear, Hasan Hejazi has been featured in publications such as Vogue International, Nylon, Dazed and Confused and Hunger and shot by noted photographers such as Rankin.  His designs mix Luxe Sportswear with vibrant silks, attention to detail and commitment to quality.  His designs  have been worn by Jesse J, Kylie Minogue, Paloma Faith and Marina and the Diamonds.

Saturday night seen the Radio City Live Event in the Echo Arena. A host of new and seasoned music talent arrived to entertain the masses including Jesse J, Professor Green, Stooshe, Neon Jungle and many more.  Jesse's outfit left very little to the imagination, don't get us wrong the girl has got a smoking hot body and why wouldn't you want to show that off but the white netting was reminiscent of the string that goes around a sunday roast joint! However her new season Giuseppe Zanotti trainers were major.  Also looking amazing were new girl band Neon Jungle, they were a refreshing addition to the red carpet, DiscoFashionArt think their style is definitely going to be one to watch.  Last but not least Professor green was rocking his usual attire of jeans and designer t! This one was Givenchy pre fall 2012, I bet you he has a fine selection to choose from!

Innovation and art in Liverpool

The crew here at DiscoFashionArt have been having somewhat of a summer hiatus for the past couple of weeks but we promise we are back to normal and all our summer holidays and road trips are behind us.  Back to the fun, fashion and fabulousness!

Our first assignment back was to attend two parties (I know its a hard life), Think Publicity's 2013 Summer press day and the launch of Fevro Drop in the Met Quarter.

Think is a leading communications and PR company with offices in both Liverpool One in Liverpool and Shorditch in London.

Known for their expertise in launching and repositioning brands, think devises multi-levelled, interactive strategies tailored to client goals and delivering relevant and innovative campaigns.

It was founded in 2005 and its collective talent represents years of experience across all aspects of brand, communications and public relations. Their clients include Hugo Boss, A Hard Days Night Hotel, H&M, Liverpool One, Boodles, Albert Dock, Rare, Cavern Walks, Raddison Liverpool, Alma de Cuba, Guess, BabyCream and many more.

The night was a chance to meet their new marketing director Anna Barclay and the rest of the crew and have a sneak peak round their fabulous new office in Liverpool One.

There were goodie bags and beauty treatments provided by Harvey Nichols Beauty Bazaar and a selection of tasty treats from Eat and Starbucks! Oh and the odd glass of Proseco too - Why Not!  There was also a sample sale from independent London designer Manikiin, the proceeds of which went to North West Cancer.  A very nice night indeed and a great way to meet their fabulous team.

Then it was onto the launch of Fevro Drop in the Met Quarter.
Frevo Drop, direct from London’s V&A Museum, is a stunning exhibition of hand-painted and illuminated umbrellas which is going on display as part of this year’s Brazilica festival. The installation of 30 original frevo umbrellas were available to view in the Metquarter from Friday July 12, right through the Brazilica festival week. Frevo Drop is curated by arts collective Braziliality.

Dancers with frevo bands are known for their energetic moves accompanied with the waving of colourful parasols. The relevance of the umbrellas is more than just spectacle, and can be traced back the late 19th Century and the origins of the dance, when competition between frevo bands on parade could be deadly.

There were art instillation's, performances from the Liverpool Samba School (as well as a display of their amazing costumes - they must be so heavy to dance in - true dedication!)drummers, DJs and fabulous Caipirinha Cocktails and nibbles.  There were also some fashionably fabulous attendees!

(loving this outfit, especially the silver holographic clutch!)

A great night was had by the entire DFA crew and it was a great way to end our holiday blues.
