Specsavers on Lord Street sent me a interesting message a little while back letting me know that they have exclusively paired up with SWEDISH fashion label Cheap Monday who have put its unique urban stamp on the world of glasses.

The Scandinavian brand, renowned for its skull logo and statement jeans, has created 17 predictably edgy styles including glasses and prescription sunglasses. Cheap Monday’s ethos of being affordable, bold and progressive is epitomised by the collection.  Using a range of colours, styles and materials it features innovative designs for men and women.
Helge Flo, designer of Cheap Monday Eyewear says: ‘We think of eyewear like we think of jeans, as a fashion necessity. Our customers want to change and mix up their glasses looks as often as they do their clothing style and this range offers them the opportunity to do just that. Fashion accessories should be fun and specs are no different.’
The designs reflect the innovation of the brand with options such as classic camo print with blue detailing and bright orange tortoiseshell. Each style is finished with logo detailing on the sides and the hidden inscription: ‘Open your third eye.’
Kerry Pullin, Specsavers’ director of range development says: ‘Cheap Monday has fast become a recognised name among their target market, creating affordable fashion for the style conscious. We’re thrilled to be the exclusive stockist of its fantastic new eyewear range.’
Priced at £99, every frame includes PENTAX single vision lenses, a scratch-resistant treatment and a bespoke case and cleaning cloth as standard. What’s more, these glasses will be included in the current 2 for 1 offer.
